Keepsake #36

“I look forward to the day I will see myself through God’s eyes, not my mom’s, not the world’s; not even my own, but God’s.” May 3, 2007.

This is an excerpt from a letter I wrote after reading the book Codependent No More by Melody Beattie.

It took me six pages, front and back, to write my story of why someone suggested I read that book. Six pages of a glimpse to who I was before God. God has transformed me.

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV

I have been transformed into the image of Christ. I am not complete but a lot of work has been done.

I can’t say I see myself entirely through God’s eyes. I can say I see who I am with him and I like it. I like it a lot!
