Beware of the Waves.
I was on this amazing getaway with my hubby in Saint Thomas, feeling beautiful and enjoying the moment. It was peaceful and calm. The sounds of the waves had a mixture of strength and gentleness at the same time. I felt so good that I asked my husband to take a picture of me to capture the moment.
I posed where I thought I could look nice but not get soaking wet. He took two pictures; one I was prepared for, the second one...not so much.
Sometimes we wake up, plan our agenda for the day and...Woosh. But, it’s going to be OK. Pick yourself up, and don’t stay there. No need to allow the waves to pull you in the ocean of doubt and despair. No need to let the enemy toss you back and forth when God has the power to pull you up. You may have gotten soaked from the unexpected waves. You may feel tossed back and forth. Don’t despair. Don’t become part of the wave.
Stand up. God has an agenda for you and it’s not to get swallowed by the waves. Remember, it is “water”, it will dry.
I have had countless moments in my life when only the power of God living in me allowed me to not be swallowed by painful life experiences, moments of loneliness, or depression.
Over the years, I have learned to have a towel nearby...because I will get wet. I have a friend near for when I get knocked down; and most importantly, I feed myself God’s Word daily so I can have enough strength to not get knocked over so hard that I can’t get up.
“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NLT.
"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." James 1:6
"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." Mark 4:39, KJV
