Keepsake #17.

"I'll always try to keep you in my thoughts because I know I'll find a friend like you."

This is the excerpt from a love letter I wrote to God. I titled it "Love letter to my God ." I still can picture the innocence in which I wrote those tender words to God.

"He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:2-4

The tenderness in my heart in which I wrote to God can seem foreign at times because, sadly, over the years, I find myself replacing my friendship with Jesus with friendship with the world. This creates a deep sadness in my heart. I don't know how or when I stopped thinking of the fact that there is no friend like Jesus.

In my twenty-five years of walking with God, I have lost count of the times I have said, "I feel alone. " I have allowed myself many times to be enmeshed in that feeling instead of proclaiming what’s true.  When I am walking with God, I am never alone!

"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Thank you for letting me share my thoughts!
