Dress drama.

Sooo.. My dress for my sons wedding was beautifully ironed and tailored…ready to go. I tried it on several times before arriving to Texas, where the wedding took place. I decided I would get dressed at the venue because I wanted to help but Alicia (my daughter in law mother) had a set up crew. Everything was covered. All I did was move three boxes into a storage bin. I went to get dressed for photos. When I put on the dress and began to zip it up, it had other plans. Up to this point, I had no problems zipping it up all by myself (maybe I just needed help right at the top, but that it) I should have known there was a problem when I needed help earlier than normal.

Nita one my sisters in Christ I met during the Bridal Shower for Abby was there with the set up crew. She came to the rescue. She said, “let’s try to get it all the way up and I will sew you in for the rest.” Thank God she just happened to have needle and thread in the color of my dress! Since the zipper worked in the top half, so she only had to sew the bottom half. She reassured me, “don’t worry, my mom taught me how to sew.” As she worked her magic, I told her that my hubby and I prayed to be aware of the devil’s. schemes. She replied, “Yep, not today enemy, not today”. She did such an amazing job, no one could tell.

I was thinking that her mom had no idea that one day her daughter would be able to save the day for the mother-of-the-groom on one of the most special day in her life.

At the end, everything turned out well with the dress and I had an unforgettable experience at my sons wedding!

P.S My friend Julie cut me out of the dress, and help me take it off without damaging it! All it needs is a new zipper.

Reflection:

When God is teaching something you don’t delay in learning it. You never know what he might be preparing you for.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season…” 2 Timothy 4:2a
