We all have a purpose. What’s yours?

To many, the picture you see is a “nice” photo. To me, it has a lot more meaning. It represents various things:

1- What is impossible with man is possible with God (Luke 18:27).

2- We all have a purpose.

My dog, Peace (who is not in the picture), was who God used to help me work through my fear of dogs. To work on this fear, I became a committed dog owner 8 years ago. Just thinking about the process fills me with so many emotions. Sometimes, people ask if I will ever get another dog. I have considered getting a friend for Peace, but for no other reason. I am not one to get a dog just because I will love one. Peace is living his days like a king since he has fulfilled his purpose in my life.

3- It is my job to work on the things God sets before me to work on, not to figure out the reason why.

Working on overcoming my fear of dogs led me to getting my dog Peace, and being able to visit friends who had dogs, and to go on walks without freaking out every time a dog walked by me.

4- Working on the things God leads us to work on has incredible rewards.

I thought the reward was that I overcame my fear of dogs and the above list was a bonus. I know there was more and included enjoying my grandpuppy Arlo. I would have never expected that my first experience of being a grandma would be with a four legged creature.

I now have a new appreciation for Peace and a strengthened conviction that, when God calls me to work on something there is more to it than what my eyes can see!

So, as you can see, for me, this picture is priceless.

Have you figured out your purpose? I hope to be like Peace one day, enjoying life every second as I live my life's purpose.

I am not where I want to be but I am not where I was. Every day I am discovering what that looks like for me. I am so happy that in the process I get the privilege of coaching others to do the same.
