Thought for today #1
“Jesus and Therapy helps me be okay” I recently went to a retreat where one of the speakers shared that statement. I agree 100%.
I have so many thoughts on a daily basis. Pleasant thoughts, uplifting, sad, scary, encouraging, fun, thoughtful, self-seeking, self-centered, outward focus, vindictive, generous, loving, compassionate, merciful, empathetic, creative, spiritual, humble, prideful, guilty and more. I have negative and positive thoughts that take turns throughout my day.
I Google, what kind of thoughts do people typically have on a daily basis? This was what came up: “People typically have a wide range of thoughts on a daily basis, including mundane thoughts about daily tasks, worries about work or relationships, future plans, fleeting ideas, self-reflections, memories, and even random musings about the world around them, often with a mix of positive, negative, and neutral thoughts, many of which can be repetitive in nature.” So, Google confirmed, I am normal
Many things can trigger negative thoughts or emotions. Lack of sleep, a strong emotional trigger, life circumstances... Thank God I don’t have to be controlled by my thoughts. I can get help. I can take them to God and seek his guidance so they don’t drive the wheel of my life.
“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.” 1 Corinthians 14:33
